Captain Michaud & Detective LaDuke
Our everyday heroes never give up and do not let us give up either. In order to provide the support child abuse victims deserve, Detective Don LaDuke and Captain Robert Michaud of the Londonderry Police Department have taken a team approach to a 10-year-old “cold case” originally investigated by Captain Michaud.
The case was reopened at the request of the victim and her family. At the time of the original allegation, joint investigations, with one forensic interview had only just begun on the Seacoast of New Hampshire. No longer a juvenile officer, Captain Michaud has taken an active role to ensure a seamless transition to Detective LaDuke who is now assigned to the investigation. The two tackled obvious obstacles posed in such an old case.
Ten years later the victim finally had her forensic interview while LaDuke and Michaud explained the Child Advocacy Center model to the family. This case demonstrates excellence in the collaborative model to protecting children from the devastating impact of sexual abuse. The Child Advocacy Center of Rockingham County is fortunate to have them as part of our team and we thank them for that.
