Everyday Heroes: Christine Jackson & Airial Sillanapa
With a staff of only three, the impact that volunteers and community businesses have on the Child Advocacy Center is priceless. Although our everyday heroes Christine Jackson and Airial Sillanapa deal in precious stones and metals for a living, they believe children are the greatest gifts. Even before they had children of their own, these two young business women had a profound understanding that kids need to grow up in a protective and nurturing environment.
Chrissy and Airial take special pride in championing the needs of the local community, especially on behalf of those affected by domestic violence. Whether donating fine jewelry, time or finding new and creative ways to raise funds for local nonprofits, these women have supported the Child Advocacy Center since their business opened on Deer Street in 2003. These fierce, loyal and loving new moms, step-mom and foster-mom know how to make philanthropy fun. Their long standing efforts to support domestic violence and child abuse charities have not gone unnoticed. The staff and board of directors are so very thankful they are part of our team. Perhaps the best way to convey our appreciation for all that they do is to honor Christine Jackson and Airial Sillanapa as our everyday heroes.
